spring recruitment

by: Lol

Hey guys! I'm a freshman interested in joining a sorority. I didn't rush this fall because I wanted to get used to college and Davis first. I was just wondering if some sororities hold recruitment during the spring, because I know some frats do? If not, it's no big deal, I'll just rush in the fall. Thanks!!

I don't think they have any recruitment events during the Spring because ADPi came to campus during the Winter!

hey! I was in the same situation as you last quarter. Informal is kinda weird because you (usually) need to be invited by a current sister to do it. I did informal but chose to not take the bid. Instead I waited until formal. Its a great way to see all the houses and since you'll be rushing as a second year you'll have wayyy more perspective than a lot of the freshman/junior transfers which will allow you to choose the house that really works for you (or decide whether or not greek-life really is your thing at all). Hope that helps!!

Don't rush as a sophomore. Some houses automatically drop you as a sophomore. ADPI isn't doing spring rush, and even if they were, it wouldn't affect other sororities from holding rush or not holding rush.

Totally a lie, you don't get automatically dropped for being a sophomore. And actually the Panhellenic sororities aren't allowed to hold winter rush because ADPI just colonized on campus. However, some may do spring rush but it's still up in the air. Either way, I recommend waiting for fall Rush so you get to meet all the houses! Don't listen to nooo's alternative facts

I would also recommend waiting for fall rush just so you get to meet all the sororities before making your decision! The only house that is really known for dropping sophomores is DG but I know even they are required to take a couple
