What an idiotic comment! I'm in a different frat and know a couple of Betas. The guys I know are actually cool guys so I won't speak about those I don't know. My cousins are Betas at a PAC12 and Big10 schools so I know a bit about them. They are one of the top frats nationally and they have dozens of chapters that are top tier. If Beta was on campus 3-4 years ago, it would've been the other house I would consider joining based upon their national reputation alone - and because my cousins are Betas too. For those thinking about rushing, always keep an open mind. Every house is different so don't prejudge an entire chapter based on what you read from this very bias and subjective site. Going Greek will make your college years more fun and memorable - no matter what house you're in.

They have recruited people who 1. should not be in frats 2. were dropped/blacklisted from other fraternities. they are also a colony, which means that nationals is going to force them to do whatever they want, which will mean: 1. members will have no control 2. will bid anyone because this will get nationals more money and will make their chapter look "better" as it will have more "growth" bad investment

Beta Theta Pi - ΒΘΠ Fraternity at University of California, Davis - UCD 4.4 For a frat that doesn't have a house.... they are pretty well known and good at marketing themselves. At least they have buzz on greek rank and on campus unlike other already established frats. keep it up
