panhellenic

I’m an incoming senior and am wondering if I could be on panhel without being a sorority member. I’d love to be involved but never had the opportunity to rush a sorority in my time at Marquette.

I feel like I’d bring a lot to Panhel.

I've a heard of a handful of people joining as seniors so you could certainly try. Keep in mind that if you join a chapter as a senior they will welcome you, but you'll be required to pay the initial joining fee (like freshman have to) in addition to the regular member dues. The first semester of sorority membership is typically the most expensive and its when a lot of girls drop. Most stay because they know they have 3 more years of membership to make it worth the money. Recruitment is also very competitive even for sophomores, so don't set your heart on any one particular chapter, and don't wait to do formal recruitment in January (unless you'll be staying a 5th year). Your best bet is to join this fall via COB. Go to O-Fest and sign up at the Panhellenic table for emails for upcoming events. This will connect you with chapters that are seeking new members right away.
