recruitment ?s

by:

At first I'm kind of quiet not super outgoing - can definitely hold a conversation, have interesting things to talk about, and can be "fun" once I get to know people but I'm a little nervous that won't shine through during recruitment. I am also wondering what house you guys think is best for people who aren't super into partying/more interested in Greek life for the "sisterhood" aspect? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm not a teetotaler or anything - I do like to go out to parties and stuff - but I'm also just as happy staying in.

It's rare that a pnm is 'perfect' at recruitment. Having small talk-like conversations or "speed dating" is awkward for a lot of people and the sorority women know that (some will definitely feel as uncomfortable as you!) As far as houses go, there are girls like you describe in literally all of the chapters. It's not likely that there's pressure to go out a lot in a certain one either. That's why this site sucks because people stereotype different chapters as being 'crazy partiers' or 'shut ins' when in reality those are based off of a small percentage of the whole group.

You'll find where you should be, try to focus on the room that you feel the most comfortable in during recruitment, which one sticks out to you the most as far as genuine conversation. Don't rely on what you see! Lots of girls go in and end up with the chapter they find the most attractive and will drop later because they can't make a genuine connection. Cheesy but go with your gut. At the end of the day that's how you'll end up the happiest :)

Definitely just be yourself! You will connect with someone, and your interactions in each room will make it apparent as to which chapter you will best fit in with.
