This definitely happens, but even if you only get asked back to houses you didn't totally love, still go and give them a chance! I've heard of lots of cases where girls dropped out of recruitment, then regretted it later. They tried to do informal rush or even formal again, but the older you are the more difficult it is to get a bid.

Sometimes people don't get asked back to any, but it's pretty rare. A lot of people drop out of recruitment because their top choices didn't ask them back, but most of them were asked back to the "lower"houses and just didn't want to go back. Be outgoing and make conversation and you'll find your place, even if it's different than what you thought at first.
