I had a wonderful “big sister” who was always available for advice and guidance. I looked up to her then and I still look up to her now. In turn, I was able to have a “little sister” that I provided similar advice and guidance to.

Very cliquey sorority that pretends to be close with one another while they're in front of other people...very fake

Kappa Kappa Gamma was founded on October 13, 1870 in Monmouth, Illinois at Monmouth College. Along with Pi Beta Phi, the two sororities are often called the "Monmouth Duo" due to both sororities being founded within 3 years of each other at the same college. Kappa has approximately 140+ chapters nationwide, with over 260,000 lifetime members. Their national philanthropy is Reading is Fundamental.

ll Greek life is Greek to me. I don’t understand sororities. I’m not quite sure what pledging actually means. I understand there’s a sense of comradery and involvement within the Greek community, but looking at the pros and cons, can we really say joining a sorority is a good idea? Of course after watching Sorority Row, who could blame me for thinking all sorority girls are murderous and bloodthirsty?

Sorority girls are commonly seen as overly-dramatic and extremely gossip-prone. While I admit this description can fit a number of girls in and out of sororities (AST), drama and gossip frequently run unchecked in this sorority at Marist. If you think “high school drama” ends when you reposition your tassel on graduation day – you’d be wrong. If you hate drama (like I do, with a serious passion) you may want to consider how much you’ll have to deal with in a sorority.
