Having a sense of belonging and sisterhood is one of the most common reasons to join KKG. It can be difficult to find a sense of unity at college if you don’t join a sports team, one of the entertainment clubs or even know what hobbies or extra-curricular activities interest you. With joining a sorority, the student body can seem less daunting and it will be easier to find a home among like-minded people. Being a sister can give you a sense of identity and the feeling of belonging to a family.

Kappa Kappa Gamma offers a member experience ranging from friendship to mentoring, from leadership to service and from campus activities to a lifetime of community involvement. There are hundreds of leadership opportunities here. We encourage members to participate in chapter management through elected and appointed positions. Kappa Kappa Gamma is a women's fraternity because it was founded before the term "sorority" came into use. Because men were able to create fraternity groups, Kappa's founders thought they should be able to do the same. However, since it admits only women, it is referred to as a sorority. Kappa Kappa Gamma is also referred to as "KKG" and "Kappa".
