by: pnmWhy are there 22 parties for round 1 if UF's panhellenic website only lists 16 sororities? I know Gphi would make 17 but still... where are the other 5 from?

She did answer the question. There are 22 parties because they provide PNMs with breaks. They do this in order to limit the size of each round - so 80 PNMs are rushed per party, usually. You'll rush all 16 houses + GPhi round one, but for the rest of the parties you'll have breaks in your schedule to relax!

When you get your first schedule from your pi Chis, they will let you know (for example) "party 1: adpi. Party 2: tri delt. Party 3: you have a break. Party 4: zeta. Party 5: you have a break." etc. after round one, you'll get a paper schedule with your name on it and the houses that called you back, and the parties where there is no sorority listed, that's your break.

It also takes into account buses for pi phi's houses, busses to where ever sk is, and the fact that kappa is a 5-10 minute walk from row. My first round was #1: pi phi #2 break #3 kappa #4 break #5 theta. But those breaks were spent hustling to all the off campus houses. It also allows the number of girls visiting a house at once to be a little more manageable
