g phi b-where will they live?!?

by: HopefulPNM

I'm going to be going through rush and am a gphib legacy through my mom. She said that her best years in college were when she lived in the house. I don't want to miss out on that if gphib won't have a house until after I'm graduated!!
Does anyone know if they will have a house soon??

It usually takes houses many years before their nationals is willing to invest in purchasing a home for them, but given that they'll be the only non-house sorority at UF, I wonder if their nationals may buy them one sooner. Either way, there are no available houses and no spaces on row to build a new one, so I would expect that GPhiB will need to wait awhile before they get one. At the absolute earliest, I would say they will have a house by 2017. Does anybody know how long it took DZ to get a house when they colonized? I agree with your mom - living in house is one of the absolute BEST parts of being in a sorority, and so is having a chef and dinners every night and all that.

Have a great recruitment! Keep an open mind, too - I personally didn't pledge my legacy house because I fell in love with another one. ;)

Wait, ZBT isn't an open house after all that craziness? Dang. I thought Gamma Phi could jump on that for now

They're not my only legacy and I know to be open to all the houses, but they were just the only one I was unsure of housing for!

Be very open-minded. I was a legacy at 2 different houses. One legacy directly from the UF chapter and both dropped me 2nd round. I was initially disappointed and so was my family but we rallied and I pledged a great house.

I believe ZBT was cleared of all charges but don't take my word for it. Also they were just renting the house from Sigma Chi, who may or may not come back in the Spring, so it wouldn't be permanent anyways.
And I believe if it was vacant, Sigma Kappa was going to rent it and use it. But idk.

Do you mean Sig Ep? Sigma Chi is still in their house and on campus last I saw. Or are they in trouble now, too?

It's one thing to rent a house to recruit out of, but do you think a sorority would rent an unused fraternity house for the entire year?? Those places smell awful.

^ HAHA. So true. But I also think they smell awful because boys inhabit them, who clean as well as monkeys. (sorry boys love ya)
