dphie

Is it possible to truly love and be loved and thrive in dphie if you're not a heavy partier? I don't want to stereotype AT ALL but all of the girls from there I've known seem to party more than average, and when I rushed there round 1 last year, the girl who rushed me made an allusion to really loving partying. (I dropped after round 1, voluntarily, and before I knew of any cuts.)

Also, I'm sure they have plenty of involved girls, but whenever I look at involvement in most organizations I rarely ever see representation from them?!

And how much are their dues? Their girls seem to be fairly well-off...

I adore their style and they seem like they have many nice girls. But I'm so apprehensive about them for some reason, yet drawn to them at the same time?! I've never really really personally gotten to know any of their girls, and I'm scared to potentially rush them to further rounds although I want to learn more about them for sure, since maybe all my preconceived notions are wrong.

Any insight????

Emphasizing - I love their vibe, I love their style, motto, even their symbols and colors haha. I know they have one of the highest gpa's in all of pan. But I don't know if I'd ever be truly happy there. I have no idea how tight their sisterhood is, and they're so rarely talked about that there's almost a cloud of mystery surrounding their house. I just want more info before I rush them at all, I have no idea if that one girl who rushed me was an outlier or if I'll end up with another girl like her this time around.

Even in the hardiest partying of houses you can certainly be loved no matter what, and the converse is true as well (partiers in the conservative houses). It's just having the most in common that you can manage, relating a ton in lunch convo's, ect, which is somewhat beneficial. But there are plenty of girls that don't follow stereotypes in each house. So. Yes, DPhiE's type is definitely a party girl, your experience wasn't atypical. Their dues are midrange as far as I know, and all houses generally offer payment plans. Even in the most expensive there's plenty of girls that pay their own way, and I would urge you that going Greek is invaluable.

I will say I'd agree their involvement may be lacking, from the events I've attended. Not the worst. But I've also heard they are super tight knit within the house which is great.

I think you're incorrect about the GPA (again the range isn't huge though and we all got into UF so) I believe that AEPhi is first. You are DEFFFFFF going to learn a lot about them during rush though! None of these questions are unreasonable but ~~~~~~OPEN MIND Y'ALL~~~~~~~~~ Recruitment is unpredictable. Feel it out. Good luck!
