summer
by: pnm
This will likely sound dumb, but here goes. When I rush, will I be asked what I did over the summer? I didn't get to travel or work so will I sound bad if I say I spent it at home with family and friends? I can make it sound exciting and I've done some fun things, but I don't want to seem boring just because I didn't have the opportunity to travel/take lavish vacations like a lot of my peers did. Is any emphasis placed on this/have any cuts been made because one PNM sounded more interesting and exciting than another?
I just want to be able to distiguish myself against the other freshmen :/ I'm here for summer B that's why I couldn't work by the way.

volunteer! you still have time to start something. If you want to be really cool, do it every day for maximum potential stories/discussions. Or talk about hobbies you did: usually people forget to count stuff that isn't "resume-worthy" but it's definitely good to talk about with friends. Ex: playing guitar/singing/other instrument, working out, running (maybe run some races to talk about), learned or practiced a skill, etc
