sophomore here

by:

I rushed freshman year to round 3 & then dropped. I wasn't like pushed out where you have no houses; I just didn't feel comfortable with the options I had left (didn't seem like Id fit in). Will this negatively affect me if I decide to rush this year as a sophomore? Just honestly curious since I've met some genuine girls in various houses this year who make it now seem worth it

I'm assuming you were probably left will. Lower tiered houses than you assumed you would get and so you dropped. Realistically, you're probably going to get similar houses to the ones you had left last rush

^^^whoever replied has literally no idea what they're talking about. Sororities see thousands of people over the course of a week. They will not remember you unless you had some sort of crazy memorable awful experience at a house. I rushed freshman year, went to 3 bottom tier houses round three. I loved two of the houses, but I didnt get invited back, and the one that I did get invited back to, I didn't feel like I fit in there. I rushed again sophomore year, and preffed at 3 differently tiered houses. I got a bid from the one that I felt most at home at. Sometimes it takes another recruitment to realize what you want, and where you feel comfortable. There's nothing wrong with that

Thank you so much! This is such a relief. I wouldn't go through it again if I didn't feel I would get a different outcome. I promise I'm not some tier-crazed individual; I just want to be somewhere I actually feel at home, so thank you for this advice!

I wouldn't worry. One of my good friends rushed freshman year, got dropped from basically every house, then rushed sophomore year and got dropped from like two or three houses but got a bid to a top tier. It won't hurt you.

No not at all! It's so funny how it works, she was the exact same. She had better conversations the second time around because she was more comfortable and confident going in.
