How did Theta Alpha (non panhellenic, Christian sorority) get paired with Sigma Chi (top tier) fraternity for Dance Marathon?

From what I've heard, Sigma Chi waited too long to find a pair and they didn't wanna end up being paired with a lower sorority. So they figured it was better to go with a non-pan than hurt their rep and pair with a lower pan
