letters of rec
by: RusheeCan I ask an active sister in a house to write me a rec? Or help me out while rushing that house? Also how much will my GPA affect rush rushing as a sophmore?

Depends on the chapter. Wouldn't hurt to ask, but don't be upset if they can't write you one. Also, even if the one friend loves you, she can't guarantee anything. There are 249 other women in that chapter who have their own opinions, so 1 person saying great things about you doesn't necessarily mean anything. And gap depends on the house, but you'll want decently good grades!

Dependent on chapter. GPA is only one aspect that is considered (and there is a difference if you carried 12 hours or 17 hours and what courses you took). Campus involvement is also important. Be prepared to explain why you are rushing as a sophomore versus rushing as a freshman. Do NOT have your heart set on a particular house but be open to the ones you receive invitations to return.
