fall 2015 recruitment

So I was wondering is it totally necessary to get letters of recommendation? like could that potentially be the deciding factor between getting a bid and not getting a bid?

Recommendation letters are far from necessary, I went through recruitment and preferenced at three chapter whom I did not have recommendation letters for: Zeta Tau Alpha, Alpha Delta Pi and Alpha Omicron Pi. As a current member of one of these chapters I can say that we do not take into account your recommendation letters unless it was written by an active, respected sister who has pull in the house. Otherwise we could not care less.
