What's it like rushing a sorority as a sophomore transfer?

it is horrible. all of the freshman are all so pretty and us sophomores are "left over" from the last rush. nobody wants us now that we are sophomores and then when you get a bid to a lower tiered house you are pretty much having the hang around all freshmen who are totally clueless.

I could not disagree more with "rough." I rushed as a freshmen, had a horrible recruitment, and thought I would never be a part of greek life. However, I decided to go through again as a sophomore and I honestly could not be happier. Sophomores are not "left over" as each house must fulfill an "upperclassmen requirement." I am totally completely in love with my chapter and I feel so much love in return! Please please don't be discouraged, rushing as a sophomore is nothing bad!

I agree with above, rushed as a sophomore and preffed at 3 of the 4 "top" houses. Had an awesome experience. I'm now in a house I love and it's like I have two pledge classes; the ones I rushed with and then the ones that are my age. I wouldn't change it if I could!

Pretty sure other houses are similar, but the sophomore:freshman ratio for my PC is basically the same as what I saw during recruitment. Being a sophomore has lots of advantages, like how I already had the whole college thing figured out, I knew more bout the system, got to meet girls from every chapter before rush, and like the girl above me, I'm close to my PC, as well as the one above me! It's pretty normal here to go as a sophomore, although obviously most of your PC will be freshman.
