no connections?

by:

Hey everyone! I just pledged a sorority a couple days ago! I was so excited as it was my top choice and bid day me so excited about my future college experience. Now that I've been a part of the sorority for a days, I don't feel like I've made any real friends yet. I see all the older sisters who are bonded so tightly and yet I haven't really made any friends. I think part of the problem is that I don't drink so maybe that is why I haven't made any friends. Now I feel discouraged and think I might have made the wrong decision to join a sorority. Has anyone else felt like this or has anyone else in PC 14 felt like they haven't made any friendships yet... I don't know if this is normal

You really need to give it more time. It isn't even a week yet since bid day.

Yes. Give it more time. I remember being very overwhelmed when I first joined a sorority. But honestly it gets easier and usually after your new member retreat you get to really know your new pledge class. Just give it some time and say hello to someone new everyday :)

DO NOT DROP!!! I remember being a freshman on bid day and feeling SO awkward because I didn't know anyone (and it was my first choice house)! It took me about 2 months to feel like I got to know everyone and to not feel like I had made a horrible mistake by choosing my chapter. Making friends takes time, but you will find incredible friends in your house! I remember the hardest thing for me was watching the cliques that instantly formed within my pledge class, a lot of these girls already know each other from high school or have older friends in the house already. Eventually my closest friends became some of the girls I had decided were "cliquey" in the early days of joining. Stick it out, you'll be surprised at how much easier it gets! Don't worry that you don't drink. It sounds cheesy, but stay true to yourself and your convictions and you'll feel more at home then you could ever realize...it just takes time!!!

Think about it this way. Not all those older members made their friends the first week. Let me tell u, it took me living in the house for people to know me. Now i love it! Maybe for u it will be easier but definitely give it a chance!

STAY WITH IT! honestly, the first week of being n a sorority is kind of awkward and overwhelming for every new member. You have 4 years to make these friendships! I'm only a sophomore and I made a handful of friends in my chapter throughout my entire freshman year... and I'm still continuing to! Just give it time and you will not regret it :)
