Yes, this! So many times pan exec is lower tier members who hate their own chapters and try to make pan their “house”. They seem to have a vendetta towards the top tier. Whoever was in charge of rush this year and the head computer girl need to be made to account for all of the errors this year. Wayyyyy more than the last few years.

That's crazy. What's the point of quota if some houses get so many more girls? They are inviting too many to pref! I heard Phi mu had 97! Pledging with that many girls sounds like a nightmare

That’s the rules of the RFM system that is national. It forces the top houses to drop more and the bottom houses to take quota additions.

Issue is not quota additions. Quota was set too low. Quota is supposed to be # of girls signing their pref card ÷ #of houses. For every house that misses quota by 1 a quota addition goes to another house. If all houses made quota there would be no quota additions! Bottom tier can't get quota additions for girls that preffed other houses. Quota additions should be spread pretty evenly and not that many overall. Houses with over 100 were allowed to invite too many to pref too. That's too big a class. Girls will fall through the cracks. No bonding= cliquey= drops.

Adpi all of them gave out snap bids due to panhellenic dropping too many girls. Amazing pnms rush!!!! bottom tier non existent now.

so there’s not just quota to keep in mind but max total so other houses were probably allowed to take more to bring them up to max total so if a house had less girls to start with they were probably able to take more and go past quota which happens every year

Quota is set on more than just the number of women who sign their MRABA and the number of chapters. There's a whole bunch more math that goes into it. Also, if women maximize their options, they aren't going to NOT get a bid. That's the way RFM works. Sororities that have a lot of quota additions did WAY better at preference than it was anticipated they would do. That's not a bad thing.
If everyone made quota, that's the goal. Just because some groups got quota additions doesn't make it unfair. And honestly, the groups that get to invite a lot of people back do so because their return rates aren't as high as the upper tier recruiting chapters. The goal is to invite back enough people so you have a reasonable chance to make quota. It's not subjective.

When the same chapters are getting big quota additions every year it is clear they are getting decent returns from pref (making more than quota each year) and are being allowed to invite too many girls back. Maybe this isn't the case for all the chapters but for sure some of them like Phi Mu.
