hoco reality check

I laugh when I see posts about hoco pairings used as criteria for ranks and dissing houses that aren't being courted by "top" frats. Reality check - the "top" frats are generally looking for the party gals, the "hot" girls for status, and hopefully a little "extra" at hoco.
So kudos to the srats that don't want to endure that kind of expectation or treatment and would rather pair with the mid or lower frats. The same top frats and srats continually just recycle eachother anyhow. There are a lot of beautiful, smart, fun girls not in these so called top srats that just don't want to be booty calls for these frats and people want to ding their rank for that. This is why hoco is a bit of a joke when it comes to pairing and people putting so much emphasis on it for ranks.

How many times do we have to reiterate that hoco pairings mean nothing? So if a srat just doesn't want to pair with a sleazy frat, or those frats don't court them first round because they know they won't get "far" with them, then maybe applaud the srat and not dis them for it. I've heard girls say they'd rather go unpaired and have a big party with other srats than have to go through the nastiness that seems to follow the hoco pairing process as well as frats treating them like objects for their pleasure. Not a lot of gentlemen out there anymore and hoco has taken on a whole different vibe.

If you google past hocos and other schools on this site and reddits, you can see how ridiculous this whole "tradition" is getting. For the amount of money some of these frats spend on courting, whether they get picked or not, (not to mention on the hoco week's events), they could do some much needed work on their houses! LOL The top tiers will never court anything other than a top tier, the mid and low tier frats will court higher tiers to get rejected and then have no $$ left for second round and treat the next houses like after thoughts. Somebody come up with a new system!

They did come up with a new system..and it was a hot mess. let the first round choices keep their picks, screwed up the rest of the houses with their biased "unbiased" attempt...IFC is not unbiased people

Sae with Kappa\n\n\n\n\nhow about switch up the entire process, think outside the box. pair tops with lower houses, and middle houses with top and bottom houses. This is the real world folks. Have the srats contribute to pairing or do away with the whole damn HC pairings. No one is better than anyone else at UF. Only the insecure top houses think they are.

Sorry you are frustrated that the frats you are interested in aren't interested in you, but trying to make yourself feel better by tearing down other women is not it. Certainly not classy. No, not really. The post is saying that using hoco pairings to rank houses is not really a good factor to use. I think if you take the time to actually read it and digest it, it's not sour grapes about who is paired with who. Rather, the ones that aren't in the top recycling bubble don't actually care to be in that bubble because there is a known "reason" to why these houses seek each other out...and that's ok. But the idea of the post is to say don't crap on other houses because they aren't interested in participating in that kind of behavior or expected behavior.

Not because you are popular, HC pairs do not make you popular at all. The whole process shallow. You are the one that is insecure, and a total moron. So what, you will do anything, to get a HC pair. So some of the hostile comments made me have to read and reread the original post to see what I missed...I don't see that it's saying the other houses are upset that they aren't being paired with any so called "top" houses...no insecurity or jealousy, the poster clearly said they aren't interested in pairings that come with expectations or reciprocity. Most houses just want to pair up and have a fun week without being shamed or ridiculed for their choice of pair. And ranks being made off pairings are a joke because of the way the system works...
From the looks of the wording, it's either a geed, non-uf student or a horney frat boy that is trying to type with one hand while the other is busy.
