Ranks Explained

For those who care about the rank and tiers on this site here’s a fair explanation. At UF all are good in their own right. Top tier doesn’t necessarily mean happiness and lower tier doesn’t mean unhappiness. Most importantly, you need to vibe or be the right fit with them to be happy.

Top - 
These are generally acknowledged to be the most selective. Some may be coasting on years of having “top tier” status. 




Upper Mid -
Also strong but tend to be a backup to the top tier, instead of a standalone first choice right out of the gate. They compete more with each other than with the top when it comes to which PNMs they get. 




Mid: 
More of a mix than the previous maybe because they tend to get PNMs who fell through the cracks. Most are very active and respected on campus and will give you a great sorority experience, even if they aren’t considered top tier.




Lower:

 Some are weaker at recruiting who for whatever reason don’t dazzle as many PNMs as the others. Or it could be due to being new on campus, not established yet or not as well known nationally or they have been on campus for decades but just don’t have a strong vibe.
A reputation as not being a desirable house is hard to shake once it’s established also, even if the current members are great girls, so they get overlooked.
While they may be smaller or less appealing than some of the others, you can still find great sisterhood here, so don’t write them off when going thru rush. \n\n\n\n\nAnd if you only care about partying remember all the frats let girls into their parties. You don’t have to be in a sorority.
