UF Sorority Legacy Question

Yep. It’s about who you know more than legacy status.

Yep legacies mean almost nothing unfortunately. I was dropped round 2 by the one my mom was in and my friend didn’t even get to meet mom’s sorority. Uf rush is all based on active connections.

It is much worse to be a legacy at this point- houses will drop you because they think you will go to your legacy house and then the house you are a legacy at doesn't care and will drop you because they don't want people to think they take legacies.

Most sororities got rid of legacy status. This means you may be cut before even meeting your legacy sorority in person. Or just one courtesy invite for round 2 wasting a space as they cut you by round 3. This is even if you have their grades, activities, and looks for your legacy house. Even if you met the rush chair they will later tell your mom they lost your video/application etc. Clearly nothing will be wrong with you as you will be invited back to every sorority but your legacy house. My advice simple you need to network with girls from camp, hometown, school, etc. that are active in the chapter hopefully 2nd and 3rd years active in UF sororities. Out of state then you need to attend camps and meet girls from UF etc. Recs still help you get to round 2 but not much more.

They still take legacies but you have to be a fit for the house and have girls in the house that can vouch for you.
