Bid day second choice
by: PnmWent thru rush twice and preffed 2 chapters. Got second choice both times, but first choice was the same house both years. Why/how does this happen? Why ask me back?
#4by: bid matching
A pnm's ranks matter a lot more after pref than at any other time but there are still no guarantees.
You ranked your pref houses #1 & #2, and the sororities ranked all their pnm's in order on their bid list. The algorithm starts at the top of a sorority's ranked list and tries to match with the pnm's who put them at #1. If you were high enough on your #1's bid list to match before they reached quota you would have got a bid from them. But you were below that line so the algorithm then tried to match you with your #2. You were high enough on their list to match with them before they reached quota so you got that bid.
If you knew going in to pref, without a doubt, that you would have rather not had a bid at all than accept a bid to your #2 then you should have only put your #1 on your card. You would have at least been free to try to get a snap or COB, but now you are bound by the agreement to not get another bid and you have caused your #2 to have wasted a bid. Discourteous and selfish move on your part.

Like the second houses out ranked the first both times or the first house never had me high enough to be in their quota/Mc?
