early graduation & its affect on Spring rush spots
by: droppedI was wondering if girls in sororities who graduate early affect the amount of girls they take during spring rush? Ex/ if 7 people graduated from a chapter are they more inclined to take 7 (or more) people in spring or even participate in spring rush at all? Or does it all vary by chapter?

yes that is exactly how it works. if 9 girls graduate in december, then chapter total decreases by 9 (plus drops). if chapter total is below a certain Panhellenic decided number, then houses are eligible to hold spring rush. every chapter has their own rules in regards to spring rush and whether their HQ makes them do it or not depending on membership numbers
houses are more likely to hold spring rush if:
a) more seniors graduated than usual
b) had multiple girls dropping throughout the fall or during the break
c) were under quota on bid day

NOT mean squat . Most houses that do spring house are below quota and did not meet quota in the fall. Do not let anyone convince you otherwise. The bottom tier hours like axo, kappa, phi mu, sk, gamma phi , alpha phi Never meet quota. Some middle tier houses may do it but not because they do not meet quota.

It's not about meeting quota in fall recruitment, it's about Chapter Total. And there is no 'spring rush' it's just COB which means that chapters can and do offer bids whenever they want, fall or spring. Every chapter offers a COB here and there. Just because it's kept on the DL and YOU don't know about it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
