Florida is a southern state, SoFla is just a different kind of southern. And there are North Florida girls in "SoFla" sororities. That's what makes the south special, it's diverse.

Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Georgia and Virginia are the only Southern States with large economies. Georgia and Louisiana are the only fully Deep South states that have any money (East Texas and Northern Florida being Deep South portions of States that aren't fully Deep South). By per capita GDP Mississippi is 51 (including DC), Alabama is 46, South Carolina is 48. Louisiana is pretty good at 22, being the only Deep South State to break 30, and Texas and Virginia are the only Southern States in the top 10.

No, the Northwestern edge of Texas is Southwestern, the large majority of Texas like the I-35 cities are Southern, and East Texas is the Deep South. Literally never heard anyone say Texas isn't a Southern state. It was part of the Confederacy, which is maybe the most widely accepted definition of what defines the South. I've spent a lot of time visiting in Southwest, and only El Paso and to some extent the Panhandle cities bear any resemblance.

Basically Texas is so large that it spans from the Southeast to the Southwest, but seeing as how demographically the majority of the Texas population doesn't live in the Southwest, to call it a Southwestern state is inaccurate. El Paso is considered the third largest city in the Southwest and the largest Southwestern city in Texas, and it's only the sixth largest city in the state.

retarded as it turns out. USF is located in central/southern Florida and hence is way more guido that FSU or UF. Gainesville is in Northern Florida, which is much more Southern, and Tallahassee is right in Deep South country. Claiming USF in any way is Southern or is more Southern than UF is ridiculous.

I hate all this classifying fraternities as southern or not southern. You are blindly classifying, you have not met every brother in every fraternity, you are going on random cliches and stereotypes. "Onthereal" though, get a clue.
