phi delta theta

So my son is starting off his freshmen year and was in Gainesville for Summer class and says that one of the more popular fraternities "Phi Delt" has a dry house but that the brothers still threw parties at the fraternity house. He also said that sometimes they would force him to drink alcohol even if he had class the next morning. What does being a dry house mean? Is there ever supervision by the house dad? Is the executive council usually there to make sure that the brothers are making smart decisions? This sounds like your typical fraternity but I just wanted to make sure I had the answer for certain things because my son will be rushing around pretty soon.

no frat here will force your son to drink alcohol. and having a dry house actually doesn’t even mean anything.

It’s hard to believe that your son was forced to drink alcohol if he wasn’t pledging a fraternity, but still should be a point of concern. If you have a legitimate question or concern I would reach out and ask the Sorority fraternity affairs office instead of coming to a website like this

This frat has the hardest pledgeship of all of them for a reason....

Phi Delta Theta's national office mandated alcohol free housing over 15 years ago. Their rules state that their chapter houses are not supposed to have alcohol in them at any time. All of their chapters ignore it. That is what being a dry house means.
