what to wear during rush
by: tornSo I have many different "vibes" some on this site may call them. I am, of course, going to be myself through out rush but I also have many different styles that I love and wear often. What types of clothes/style/vibes do each of the houses have?? I am just confused as to what I should wear and who I may turn off by these choices. Thanks!

I also have different "looks" I go for. Don't swing too far in any one direction, basically. If you're a little bit into the "southern" look, get some solid colored shorts by jcrew instead of a bright wild patterned lilly skirt. If you're super edgy, try greys and dark neutrals instead of all black torn stuff. Keep your overall outfits fairly simple (simple for YOU), stuff you'd wear in real life, and be more expressive on accessories.

If you do really like Lilly cause you are into the beachy/classy look and you wear a pair of lilly shorts on the first day would that turn other sororities off if they aren't necessarily southern sororities? Is it better to wear the lilly shorts cause it reflects my personality or wear cute flowy white shorts so it is more simple? I'd rather get bids from more houses but at the same time I want to impress the sororities that are into lilly like me.

I would play it safe with the simple skirt. Most houses do not wear Lily regurlarly so it may give them a different impression than you want.

if you're in gainesville, just take a walk around the oaks mall and go into stores you like and big stores (jcp, dillards) you'll probably find something you like for at least 2 of the 3. tobi is a good online store but pricey. if you're on a budget you can find some pieces at target, but personally I think gainesville target never stocks anything good so maybe go online for that. kohl's is decent. boutiques are also a great idea, so look for some in your town. plus that can be a conversation topic.

Free people, revolve, Nordstrom, boutique clothing. Wear f21 as long as it doesn't look cheap. Don't be too excessive with accessories. I would just say do not overthink it and keep it simple. Reflect your own style and don't try to be too trendy if that's not how you actually dress. Honestly clothing is important but your personality and how you look besides clothing is more important so focus more on that.

I have always heard that you should dress conservatively? I obviously know not to wear anything too scandalous but I just want to know where the line is at UF. Like lets say I want to wear a dressy romper for the last round. Would that be totally taboo or no? I know I'm overthinking it but I just need an idea of how it is

I don't think so! The chapter women will all be in white skirts, shorts, or jeans depending on the house. Pair the v-neck shirt pan provides with a cute skirt or shorts, sandals, a nice purse, and you're good to go!
A general tip is to make sure that your outfits looks well put together, looking sloppy (which I'm sure you won't) sometimes gives off the "I don't care" vibe which you want to avoid! So it's best to be well prepared and check out their recruitment Pinterest board :)

It's too casual. Would it be appropriate to wear acid washed high waisted jean shorts for recruitment back in 2012 when they were trendy? NO! Go ahead and wear denim but don't be surprised if you get dropped
