hate my frat, what do i do

by:

I'm gonna be a sophomore and last year I made the mistake of rushing a frat that's just not for me. I hate it so much and they guys there are not my type, I just think I'd fit in much much better somewhere else but I'm already a brother. What can I do? I dont want to be stuck with these fools for 3 more years. s

well, you can drop but I don't think you can rush until you're a junior I think, and i wouldnt want to pledge that late in the game.

I found a group within my chapter that hates my chapter. Something tells me you're in the same chapter as me.

Once you're initiated, you cannot re-rush another fraternity.

During rush/pledging, what did you not pay attention to that could've tipped you off? Is it the current brothers who are the problem, or your own pledge class? What were some red flags that you missed?

I realize that, but it might help others who will be going through the rush process in the future to avoid a similar mistake.

Good luck, bro!

will other fraternities let you join them if you quit your old one?

No, they will not.

You can drop as a pledge and join another. Once you're a brother, you can't.

This actually isn't true. If another fraternity wanted to extend a bid and take you on as a pledge after you were a brother elsewhere, the fraternity's president that wants to take him usually asks the other fraternity if there was a bad reason he dropped, etc. With all the given information, and a general go ahead, the person could become a pledge, and eventually a brother at another place.

But it generally doesn't happen that often I feel like, but i know a friend who dropped a middle tier to go to a top house, and thats what happened.

You can't join another UF recognized frat, but you can join the sort of Gazoni thing that former Pikes are setting up.
