Here is what I know.....A membership review is where Representatives from your national office come down and conduct one on one interviews with every member inside the chapter to determine whether or not they should remain as members. It's another way for "Cleaning House" to get rid of the problem eliminates inside the chapter. During this process, the whole chapter will be evaluated in the performance to see if it adheres to the governing policies and standards of both your national and university. After the membership review is completed, the National will determine which members stay and which have to exist the fraternity. Also, the chapter will probably be placed on either probation or a suspension under the watchful eye of your national and university meaning the chapter will be limited on all social functions, recruitment, etc and will be required to attend all educational training involving leadership. Honestly, If it was my fraternity, I would just surrender the charter and be placed on alumni status.

Unfortunately, that is the truth. It seems that many National Fraternities and Sororities across the Country are doing more of these membership reviews at other schools to get rid of problem members and to discipline the chapters to be more responsible and accountable for their actions. I would hate for my sorority to ever go through this process.
