I know that sorority recruitment isn't easy here but how much do rec letters and hometowns determine where I'll get a bid? I'm OOS and don't know a soul at the school

You'll be fine, it's not as competitive as Bama or Ole Miss in terms of hometown and connections. You could easily do rush here without any recommendations and end up in a "top house" (if you're pretty, etc.)

I promise you will have pretty much the same recruitment experience as the girls from Florida who know people. UF is not like the other big SEC schools in that regard. Letters of rec and where you're from are irrelevant to 99% of people.
