social aspects of greek life are too highschool

Greek life is not an entirely bad thing as many people form close bonds and it gives you a foundation of girls who will be there to help during times of need, but what bothers me is the immature social stuff. Ranking is just like popularity status in high school; people take it way too seriously but it doesn't actually matter. Also, for socials, frats and sororities care so much about who they are with; why can't everybody get to know everybody? I am in a sorority and for example, a "top" frat dropped their social with us because we don't normally associate with them. Things like this are so artificial and I feel like people shouldn't be focusing so much on social status and how that makes them look. Also, cliques are a big thing within each sorority and I feel like everybody should be more open to get to know everybody in their sorority. Idk, it just feels like high school #2, and it makes me question being in a sorority :/
