Do any of the top chapters drop legacies because they are not pretty enough?

Sorry but yes. In such a large recruitment, legacies aren't taken as seriously. But if you prefed at your legacy house, you'll probably be on the top of their bid day list

legacies only got dropped at out house( a top house) because we had way to many legacies this year. That is the only reason. We had to give bids to active with little sisters( incoming freshman) first. Not because of looks.

So many women that come thru rush nowadays that there are too many legacies to consider. Many chapters invite legacies automatically to 2nd round as a courtesy. In addition, many chapters have to put legacies on the top of the bid list so many legacies going to prefs will get bids if they put their legacy chapter first. The only exception is PNMs that have active sisters in the house and it that case most will get bids. It is generally a big deal if a chapter cuts an in house legacy.

Unfortunately active sister in house legacy factors in more than sister who graduated a few years ago, mother, aunt, active sister in another chapter at different university. A few years ago, a legacy of a national sorority officer was cut by a chapter at UF...unfortunately for them, by making the cut they lost a large contribution that was coming their way.

Disagree with the statement by legacy that there "are too many legacies to consider." If quota is 80 and recruitment started with close to 2000(?), only 1,360 ladies are joining sororities. I understand that some ladies choose not to return to their legacy sorority BUT I do not believe each chapter has 80 legacies pledging their sorority. UF Retention rate throughout recruitment is around 68% - which would earn a D in most classes. Check out retention rates at other SEC schools such as Alabama, Arkansas and you will see that Florida Pan recruitment fails.

Many legacies are cut from chapters here my house included. Do you think that's why our retention rate is lower? I don't think so because the other schools you mentioned cut plenty of legacies. I hear we had around 1700 rushing so if quota is 80 that's about an 80% retention rate.
