I can't believe I'm going to say this... If you really, really, really don't see yourself fitting in, don't go to Pref.
I have believed differently up to last night. I always said "go", "give it a try". If a house invites you to pref they see you as a potential sister.
Last night changed my mind. I talked with a girl that obviously wanted to be anywhere but at my house. She was SO RUDE and just down right mean! I won't repeat the things she said to me, but I cried after she left. ---I'm not normally a crier. Ive never heard of a PNM to be so hateful.
My point is .... If you aren't willing to try to see the wonderful opportunities at any house you are invited to, don't waste their time.
If you see any hint that you might fit there, then please go and be positive.

I'm so sorry this happened to you! I don't understand how any PNM has the nerve to speak meanly to a chapter woman. You go through so much more effort than us and get far less out of it. I can only hope that her favorite houses will see her for who she is and cut her. No one deserves a sister like that. I also hope that your house doesn't give her the opportunity to attend your prefs.

Any PNM that acts that way in ANY house deserves to be cut completely. My guess is that things are not going to well for her. The issue that I have with your post is that I know so many PNMs who stuck it out and LOVED their house. Sorry that this upset you but I don't think one rude person should be a reason for others to drop.

I struggled posting this because I agree with you. When I went through rush I was cut by my top choices, but I went to the houses that wanted me back. I kept an open mind and ended up with the best friends I could ever imagine. I love my sisters and house so much!
I just read a post from a PNM that said she could never be happy at one of the houses that invited her back. Prefs are a big deal! The ladies at the houses really use this day to show the heart of their chapter. Please go with an open mind. If you get an invite to pref, know that we are welcoming you to our home away from home. We value you and we want to get to know you even more.
