round 3 dropped?
by: wonderingI had 12 houses for round 2 and found myself dropped by all of them for round 3. Is this common or did something behind the scenes make this happen?

It was pretty obvious by the way they acted; I know a fake girl when I meet one. And they seemed all too pleased to tell me I wasn't going to be continuing...

I doubt that. I know I was having a great time with recruitment and I liked the Pi Chis even if I could tell they weren't fond of me :/

I find it hard to believe that a Pi Chi told you that you wouldn't be continuing......that's kinda not their thing.

Well it was their thing this morning. They called and told me I had been released from recruitment because I had no parties. Who usually tells PNMs that they're done?

Pi chis are the ones who would call you and that's pretty much the standard phrasing. I'm sorry you got dropped and feel that way, but pi chis are chosen for their helpful, fun, caring, etc personalities by Panhellenic, I'm sure they didn't have anything against you

I'm so sorry for you. Here is the good news, UF is a huge place with a lot of opportunities. You will meet a lot of people this year. Get involved in other campus organizations. If you still want to be Greek, rush again next year. Many girls do rush their sophomore year. By that time you will have met girls throughout the Greek system. I don't want to build up your hope but if houses don't make quota, you could be invited to join a chapter through the snap bid or COB process. Good luck to you!

I had 10 for round 2 with some I really connected with so much. Then for round 3 I only had 1. I was so shocked and upset. The house I have left I have no connection with but I went to round 3 and still no connection. But yeah we're in the same boat and it sucks.

We're not in the same boat at all... Did you wake up yesterday morning, get ready for round 3, only to get a call telling you that you had been completely cut??? No, you didn't. Sorry to be harsh, but at least you still have one house, and maybe you'll even grow to connect with them during preferentials and then get a bid for bid day. But as for me, I've just been really upset and confused since yesterday morning and I have no idea what went wrong.

I honestly think you should go talk to the professional staff (not student staff members) in the office of Sorority and Fraternity Affairs. I have never heard of somebody getting dropped with so many parties in round 2. They might be able to shed some light on the subject for you and help you understand what may have happened. Plus there may be options that you don't know exist. I know you must be really hurt, I would be too. Best of luck to you!

I contacted the program coordinators for sorority and fraternity affairs by email and I haven't heard back, and I expect not to until after recruitment is over, but maybe I can get some sort of idea about what happened. I think I deserve an explanation considering the money and time I spent on rush.

so this is common then?? I know my pi chis didn't like me, so maybe they were just humoring me R2. I was a legacy in two chapters as well....
