phi mu rep?
by: HelpOkay so I really like Phi Mu but I've heard they don't have a good rep at UF? What do people say about them?

I would say as much as any similar rank house and with the ones that they typically socialize with. And BTW, I was surprised to see any downvoting regarding Phi Mu's sisterhood, most would agree that that is their strong suit and would give them that. Anyone downvoting that probably is in competition with them, and that is a pretty crummy thing to do during rush. Also, just read the post below saying there was a sisterhood scandal, have never heard that before. Sounds like someone on this lovely site has decided to go on the attack.

They have the reputation of having a great sisterhood. Over the years they have steadily improved with each new pledge class. Grades have improved and they have always been a chapter involved around campus in SGA, Blue Key, Panhellenic, etc. This is UF after all and student that are accepted here are smart and involved. But really it's what YOU think that matters! Pick the house that feels right to you and I guarantee you will have a great 4 years.

They've recently had scandals of girls picking the "pretty ones" over other sisters. Some girls this year were upset that they weren't allowed to recruit based on their looks but keep in mind that they're going through growing pains and trying to distance themselves from their "phi moo" reputation.

How would YOU know this? Are you a sister at this house? If not, stop attacking a house you know nothing about personally. Try focusing on improving your own chapter instead of trying to tear down others.

Every house has to pick who will recruit and who will do other stuff. Some sisters may not like it, but with over 200 sisters in each house and a much smaller group of pnms per party, decisions have to be made & there has to be a division of labor during rush. I dont know how that becomes "scandals."
IDK, pettiness like this on here annoys me, especially when it involves a house that I think is nice. I actually had been thinking how good SK, GPHI, PM & AEPHI have generally been this rush, since I have seen nice things on here about each. I hope that doesnt change.

I'm curious why "self ranking" is bad. Id like to know what the ladies in the house think of themselves.

It's bad because I feel all of us get the tier system a little in our heads (the sad reality) and that makes us afraid to choose these bottom tiers, especially when only left with them. I hate saying this as I am practicing having an open mind, as I'm sure many of these girls are sweet and like to have fun as well
