my daughter is rushing
by: PNM Mom
My daughter is rushing at UF. I was in a UF sorority that you all call Top Tier.
I will be sooo upset if my sorority drops my daughter.
So, before you drop that legacy, think about it!

I graduated from UF, let’s just say, a while ago. My mom was in what is now a middle-tiered sorority and she was devastated when I chose not to go that route. I didn’t want to put that same pressure on my daughter who is now in a completely different “top-tier” sorority. I wanted her to choose girls who she felt the most comfortable with because, in the end, the sisterhood is all that matters. I know she made the right choice because I know how much she loves her sorority. She is truly happy where she is and that is all we could ever hope for for our daughters. Five of my 8 bridesmaids were sorority sisters and we are still dear friends to this day. We had some of the best times (and not so great times) at UF that we love to reminisce about. I’m sure you want your daughter to have the same experiences and memories that you had, but that’s not going to happen even if she chooses the same sorority. It’s a whole new group of girls in a whole different collegiate culture at UF. Our time has come and gone. Enjoy the memories you made, but give your daughter and your sorority the freedom to choose what is best for everyone involved.
