bottom line cost

by:

I am a transfer who is very on the fence about going through recruitment, it seems like a great opportunity, but my priorities are pretty different as an upperclassman than they were as a freshman. One thing that I definitely will need to take into consideration is cost, which the panhel website doesn't give much information. Having been new members then active members yourselves, what are some average costs per semester?

Some houses offer scholarships. Others have installment plans that you can work out with your parents so you don't graduate with too much debt owed to the sorority. Some girls work, not really on campus product endorsement and on-line. No longer are women who happen to have been born into a poor family given bids they can't afford and put to work washing the dishing and detailing sisters' vehicles.

Graduate with debt to the sorority? For what... a bunch of glitter and photos tagged in social media?! Gimme a break. Insane.

Often there is a one-time initiation fee on top of annual dues, so because you are an upperclassman your average price-per-year would be higher than normal for your remaining two years. That's math.

You can find more specifics during rush. The ones with newest houses supposedly cost more, like DDD and DZ. SK has a brand new house, but they have been planning for it for many years, so costs will stay the same. GPHI has no house and possibly no dining, so their costs are probably lowest NOW. But they are planning to build a house and will offer dining then, so their costs will probably go up a lot (they are totally new, and unlike SK, they haven't been saving and have no local chapter alums to contribute...and yes, regardless of national involvement, the chapter is still expected to work toward making up the costs over time).
