I rushed last year, I have mentioned this before. Took I bid from The Tri Delt. I did not like this house at all. It was all about money, what type of designer clothes you have, what kind on car you, drive, it was very material. I was not
raised that way. My parents do not have that type of money. I was made to feel uncomfortable. I am re-rushing this fall, and am very excited to find my new home. I am excited now, looking for a close knit, sisterhood, with a good
reputation.

I am so sorry this happened to you. Good luck the second time. I hope you find your true home this time.

The main advantage of doing it a second time is less nerves since now you know what to expect.

Didn't get a bid from my dream last year. Got an offer last year from DG but mom wouldn't let me take it, worried about my reputation. Found another student organization with sisters I love.

Most likely your mom was never in a sorority, didn't get a bid.

I guess you could try to use your freshman year to change your image -- but then would you still be you?

Do not mention you rushed before, makes for an awkward and unnecessary conversation! They won't know the difference. Come up with a reason why you're rushing as a sophomore - emphasize why you want to join greek life. Don't talk about all the parties you went to as a non greek. Be confident! All houses have upperclassman quotas. Take time picking our your outfits now that you know what kind of style the houses have. Get recommendations. As always, be natural and have natural conversations and you'll go far.

Just stop!
First response was not DDD and you're mom had nothing to do with not joining DG.

Stop the catty nonsense, you are both awesome
