Is it bad to not have recs for all the houses? will it make a major difference if i get into a house or not?

No you're fine. Nobody actually takes them into consideration that much. It's like an "oh that's nice" thing, not an "oh wow she has a rec let's take her" thing.

It is definitely a help to have recommendations. It does not guarantee you a bid, but it usually gives the sorority a heads up to get to know you better.

I don't get how it helps them get to know you better though because it all the same information you submit with your rush app?
