sae and sigma chi hype

Can anyone please try to explain the hype surrounding SAE and Sigma chi? I consistently see them ranked as the "top" houses, but would like to understand why? I never got that vibe from either, and was wondering if someone could shed some light on the situation

everyone in sae reminds me of those dads who never grow out of their college years.

sigma chi is (mostly) kinda nerdy skinny kids.

both houses throw good parties/rage and are pretty easy to talk to but lots of fraternities at uf do that so i think it's just a long standing tradition that these houses are top at this point.

That sounds pretty dumb that they are top just because of tradition. I went to an SAE party this summer and they didn't even seem any better than the other fraternities I've been too. Dont sororities change rankings all the time, so why not fraternities.

I mean they both party crazy hard and are almost always a good time. even the guys that aren't necessarily the best looking are fun. idk I'm not in either of these frats (I'm a girl) I just like them both

ATO Beta and Pike are all just as good for varying reasons, people just dont want to break out of the weird norm of constantly saying that EX and SAE are top

Does anybody know how these cats stay out of trouble. I mean I just don't get how they're impervious to any type of detrimental sanctions.

I know for a fact SAE has a guy who holds a prominent position on IFC, so even if they did get in trouble it would literally be so easy for them to sweep it under the rug and reduce their penalty same with all the other frats who are represented on IFC
