Talking about things that were too personal, especially Round 1, made me super uncomfortable. Like, I'm glad that you can open up to me but I do not want to hear about your alcoholic mother or your cousin with a weird disease.

I thought I was supposed to ask about "what fraternities do you do stuff with?" NOPE. In hindsight I can't believe I didn't get cut literally everywhere. Also, at one house, I asked about the symbols on their crest. Do NOT ask about secret/ritual stuff.

I did join a house (thankfully I didn't screw up everywhere) and though round one cuts were rough I was happy where I went. Wasn't til I was on the "other side" of rush a year later that I realized "OMG I can't believe I asked that stuff."

Be careful of being "too nice". Round 1, I was incredibly nervous so therefore I was just very nice & didn't really let me true funny personality shine. Girls thought I was being fake! So just make sure you don't let your nerves get the best of you!!!
