rush bag

by:

What is the best bag(s) to bring for rush? I heard that it's a good idea to bring a big bag to fit everything you may need and a smaller purse to actually bring into houses?

I would do a longchamp bag. They can carry everything you need and more while being cute and matching anything. But tbh the second night of recruitment I went to target and just got a plain but cute classic black purse that could hold water an umbrella, makeup, flip flops, mints, etc.

I'm not the OP but I was thinking of using my big longchamp as my big bag but it's pretty beat up. i have a new cross body bag that's kinda small but that was gonna be my smaller bag for going into the houses. is that a good idea? will they see my longchamp if i don't bring it in the house? or should i just go out and buy a big bag

I brought a pretty big plain tan leather bag. Got endless compliments and it held everything.

Honestly just bring a small enough bag that you can bring inside but big enough to hold a little umbrella. Keeping a big bag under a tent is a hassle.

Bring a bag that's big enough to hold everything you think you'd need. I had a tote bag I used throughout the whole week. Better to be over prepared with a tote full of supplies, rather than having a small purse and being out of luck in the case of an emergency.

Did you have a smaller bag that you brought into the houses or did you bring the tote in?

I brought the tote in. I didn't really have anything heavy in it, so the sorority girls didn't mind carrying a bigger bag. Honestly it was more of a conversation starter because we would begin talking about what I was carrying in my bag (setting spray, fan, extra phone charger, etc) which the sorority girl would then respond with what she brought for recruitment, what she wished she brought, etc. after that, a conversation about her recruitment experience as a whole and what it was like running home just came naturally.

I recommend a roomy cross body because the sorority girls that have to hold your bags would rather carry a smaller bag if possible!! I brought a Marc Jacobs that literally fits everything in it including a water bottle but it's not bigger than a football and it's a cross body. I would recommend it. It's like a nylon material with a magnetic flap. Not leather. Really durable.

The night before round one i went to the mall and bought a dooney and bourke cross body and it was the best thing i could have done. It was a perfect size because it held a water bottle, fan, umbrella, the packet they give us, snacks, and on the days we had to wear heels i packed flip flops. Do not be scared that you bag will be too heavy or too big, these girls have seen it all and probably carried a bag just like you when they rushed. Pack what you think you will need, it never hurts to be over prepared.
