what makes summer videos stand out?
by: Summer VideosThese videos are all cute but I'm not sure they differentiate the chapters. Each one is the same sort of music and a montage of (water sports/jumping off a dock into water/throwing your hand sign up in a foreign city/driving with my sisters/making kissy face). Which videos or parts of videos really reflect an individual houses personality beyond the generic stuff? PNMs, what do you want to see?

Videos during recruitment are the full length real version that you'll get to see what they didn't want to show the internet. It will still be a lot of that but it's easier to differentiate. If you are not a PNM going through recruitment then the answer is.. They are all the same. You don't differentiate.

ZTA released theirs today! It's actually better than expected however it's not necessarily "different". Their music is unique, I've never heard it, and the girls aren't really done up that much. They also have funny bloopers at the beginning which is a surprise from a house like this. I wouldn't say it stands out though

Zta's video was just fine. but based on their tremendous hype on here, i guess i was expecting more. I thought the vid looked like it could have come from any chapter on campus, which is not a bad thing. At least they didnt try to only put in girls that look a certain way, they had a lot of nice, normal looking girls in there...i thought this was a positive. It was a bit unexpected tho since they are mainly known for the trait of appearance. i suppose it shows that there really isnt that much of a difference looks-wise between chapters.

im a pnm too and i thought DDD's vid stood out. don't jump to conclusions... there's real pnms on here too...

I thought zetas stood out because they are known for their looks but they really didn't care about that in their video. They are some of the most beautiful and diverse girls on campus but they didn't act like it or try to be that in their video. There were no spray tans, fake eyelashes, or Kendra Scott earrings. There were hardly even any curls or done hair. They looked natural, which was shocking, but refreshing. Maybe they didn't have to most wow worthy video, or as wow worthy faces as people were expecting, but they did seem pretty real which is a nice change for them. And DDD was great as well, just a little more showy than ZTA. I think all of the videos that have been released are excellent! They put a lot of work into them and they all look like great places to call home

If you are truly (physically) beautiful, a natural look can be the most beautiful look. And when you are purportedly the MOST beautiful sorority on campus, you cultivate that image, and perpetuate being top of the tier system, it is not crazy to think the girls are going to be absolutely gorgeous in their videos.
Natural look or not, the majority of the girls in the video looked like regular college girls (most cute, some not as much) with a few beauties thrown in. That is the make up of just about all the sororities on campus. So if Zeta's goal was to show that they look like everyone else, score, they did it. Don't think they deserve extra points for that though, since I doubt that was truly what they were going for...this really enforces the bogusness of the tier system. Maybe the tier system is based on who knows how to do their make-up better, because without as much of it, Zeta looks like everybody else.

I don't know about you guys, but I definitely got different feelings from all of the videos. Based on the way the girls were portrayed, I could see myself fitting into some sororities better than others. A couple felt really inauthentic to me, like the girls were more facey than friendly. Overall, they won't affect my opinion of the houses much, though.

Here we go again....DDD with the self ranking again. We watched your video, nothing special. blah...blah. vanilla and boring. When is it going to Stop DDD? YOUR SELF RANKING IS REALLY ANNOYING .
