sophomore rush experience
by: RushWhat was rushing like for anyone who got dropped as a freshman and rushed again as a sophomore? I know I'm not alone and that a lot of girls have unlucky experiences freshman year, so I was just wondering what girls in my position did differently their sophomore year to have a better experience?

really grow up. you are going to be rushing a sorority as 20/21 year old.... did you not get enough attention in high school. We hate you Juniors and Seniors rushing. Where have you been for the last 3 years?

I had the same experience as a sophomore. Bids from crappy houses. I dropped out. Did not want to belong to AXO, KKG, or PHI Mu. I just realized it was not meant to be. I am going to be a Senior this year, totally got over it. In ten years this will not be a hill of beans. It did back then, but not now. It does not matter now, I am going to Law School.

feel bad for you. I would not want to belong to AXO, KKG or PHI MU either. I would have dropped out too. I am not that desperate, those houses suck. YUCK.

I don't blame you for not wanting to be a part of a sorority you don't feel comfortable in, but no need to be as shallow as the comment above me. Stop letting other people's opinions make you bitter. Being in a top tier sorority will mean nothing to anyone in 20 years. However, making incredible friends and having the support of your sorority sisters might just make a difference. Something to consider.

When you try to tear houses down, at least be savvy enough to change your posting name when you reply to yourself two minutes after your original post.
And on the slight chance you're real, and actually did only have those houses left that you deem "crappy"...well, that makes you "crappy" then too if nobody else wanted you, right?
PNMs: no houses are crappy. Ignore the drama and sad internet trolls. Go where the women are nice to you, not where an Internet forum says you should.

Went thru last fall, got dropped by all the houses I wanted did not go to prefs. I now have lots of friends in DDD, ADPI, and KD. I am hoping that I will get a bid from one of those houses. I was really upset last Fall, but did not want to belong to the houses that wanted me. I am not going to name any houses in order not to offend anyone. If I do no not get a bid from a house I like this time around, will nnnot loose any sleep about it. I like those 3 houses only.

I find nothing wrong with saying you do not to belong to a certain house. That is what prefs is a about. I do not think this person was being shallow, was just stating she did not want a certain house. The whole concept on joining a sorority is joining where you feel you will fit it. Sisterhood is huge. Good luck to all PNM's that will be rushing in the Fall.

Good luck. I hope you get a bid from ADPI, DDD or KD. Those houses rock, and they are top tier houses,except for maybe KD, slipping in rank( over rated in my opinion, and they have been for years, but KD can be nice sometimes.

FYI... KD is over rated. My room mate dropped them after 1 year. Said they were the meanest back stabbing bunch of girls that she knew. SHE hated this house. It was all about social climbing, getting drunk, and sleeping with frat guys. No true sisterhood.

I understand going in already not wanting certain houses. I'm rushing as a sophomore as well and I have a few houses in mind where I know I wouldn't fit, based on personal experiences. But not wanting any house but 3 of the top tier houses is suicide. You probably won't get them unless you've gotten super involved with important things, like SG, cicerones, cheer, or something. And I don't think anyone wants girls who only think 3 sororities would suit them. More probably would and you should be more open to them.

I rushed as a sophomore and got 3 houses on prefs that I didn't fit in with at all. I accepted a bid and dropped a week later. I rushed again as a junior and had a MUCH better experience. I had a full sched every day and preffed at 3 houses that I LOVED and now am in the perfect chapter for me

we i went through,i got dropped completely. i ended up being really affected by it and upset.however i rushed a second time and i received a bid and now am in a chapter and sisterhood i never would have seen myself in. go in and be completely and unapologetic you. that way if/when you get a bid it's for who you are and if worse case you get dropped,you at least can go on without wondering what if?

true story - rushed as a freshman, tried to be the person I thought each house wanted to see and ended up with 2 houses I couldn't see myself in round 3 then I dropped. the other houses could see right through the fake. re-rushed as a much more mature and confident sophomore, was true to myself and didn't give a crap about what girls rushing me thought or what I might've thought they would've wanted to hear. got full schedules every round and 2/3 houses I loved on prefs. now I'm a happy sorority girl ~~~~

This gave me so much confidence for re rushing in fall. Acted too fake and someone I wasn't in the fall and I'm so glad you let me know I have a chance in the fall if i just be chill and myself
