They basically refused to give a bid to anyone who was remotely conservative, so they got a lot of really good girls this year. Those high dues scare a lot of PNMs during recruitment, so I’m not surprised that they struggle to meet diversity standards. But they definitely have the strongest online presence and don’t seem tone deaf like almost every other org on this campus. If they keep letting their non-white sisters lead then they’ll do even better.

This sorority is full of women who do not like each other and will constantly talk badly about their sisters behind their backs. You can get heavily fined for missing chapter or events and some sisters lack empathy for each other. There really is not a lot of sisterhood going on with gamma phi. Many of them love to drink a lot and they like to party. Probably the most diverse sorority on campus in terms of appearances of sisters. They have a nice yearly retreat and there are some very smart and driven girls in gamma phi. Many of them obsess over and spend a ton of time with pi kap guys. Really cool philanthropy but you wouldn’t know much about it unless you knew a few gamma phis who were passionate about it. If you’re looking for true sisterhood and love and acceptance from your sisters, this may not be the chapter for you.

A lot of girls are wealthy or at least portray that they have money and expensive lifestyles. Very concerned about appearances and looks for the most part. They have an amazing philanthropy but don’t do much for it on campus aside from one week out of the whole school year. This sorority can also be very cliquey with each other. They like to party and drink.

Delta Gamma Sorority

This is the sorority for you if you are rich, white, and blonde. DG is the most expensive sorority on campus and many of the girls seem entitled and typically post about traveling, parties, or other things that some people just can’t relate to at all. I think they do a really great job at putting on a show during the recruitment process but I don’t think they are as involved as they say they are. I will say there are of course some nice girls and many of them are intelligent and committed to their passions but if you don’t have money, this probably isn’t the sorority for you. Sisters can come off very entitled and stuck up. Not a lot of diversity/inclusion going on.

Theta Phi Alpha Sorority

I am so thankful I joined theta phi when I did and I wish I would’ve joined sooner. I was pretty hesitant to join a sorority because I had a lot of preconceived notions about what sorority life would be like but Loyola a Greek life is very different from big state schools or Tulane right next door. Theta phi has women with different backgrounds, diverse bodies, and a lot of lgbtq+ and latinx/Hispanic representation. Yes, theta phi is known for members drinking and smoking weed but I promise you that’s every sorority here and just Loyola in general. Although theta phi is known for that sometimes, the sorority is also known for being heavily involved on campus and being the most passionate and active sorority when it comes to their philanthropy which is camp friendship and the house that theta phi built. They hold multiple fundraisers, do tabling events, do online fundraising, have a whole week dedicated to fundraising called theta phi week, etc. They are also relatively relaxed with fines and are the most cost effective sorority and will work with you if you have any financial problems. The only big downside is that of course people do form their own groups of friends within the sorority but I still think there is a good level of respect between everyone. I will say this may not be the place for you if you do not have an open and accepting mind set. Also, just to add, theta phi has a lot of extremely intelligent and musically/artistically talented sisters who are very passionate about their academics.

These are the type of guys that want to be a state school frat but somehow make every effort to make sure that doesn't happen. They claim they have immaculate brotherhood but will turn their back on you in a moments notice. You'll also end up paying a stupid amount of money with nothing to show for it. These guys will be nice to your face but mock you the second you leave the room, and to no ones shock everyone hates them for it. They used to be alright but poor leadership has brought them down the drain. You're better off joining FIJI.

This fraternity used to be good, but in the last few years it has taken a nosedive straight into the gutter. They are a bunch of guys who think that they are better than everyone else since they view Pi Kapp as a status symbol, yet are universally mocked and reviled on campus. These guys act like they are party animals but with every passing year their parties seem to get worse. If you want to join Pi Kapp, know that you are joining a group of gossipers whose goal isn't to form a strong brotherhood, its to make their resume look good.

Im a senior and have been thinking about joining a sorority this last year. Delta Gamma seems like the best option because they seem to be the most involved on campus and are always hanging out with each other. Just seem like a cool group of girls and they do a lot for their philanthropy
