no bid
by: girlWhat are the chances that I won't get a bid from any sorority? Is it common for some girls to not receive a bid at all? Does LMU have guarantee rush? I know some of my friends at their schools if they get to pref night they are guaranteed a bid from a sorority is that the same at LMU?

Sadly it does happen occasionally, but it is possible not to get a bid. HOWEVER to not get a bid from ANYONE you would have to do something ridiculously offensive, go to a party (its a dry weekend no booze no boys and trust me they will find out), or not attend all of the rounds you get invited back to. Say second day you get invited back to Sororities A, B, C, and D, but you only really like A and B, so you decide to skip C and D and take a nap instead. That's rude to the system, the other sororities, and your fellow PNMs. This is a way you could not receive a bid, because A and B will find out and will think its rude, most girls have friends in other sororities. Keep an open mind with every sorority each day! You never know who you could meet and who could change your mind about a sorority. The good news is that if you make it to Pref day, and you attend both rounds that you are invited back to, you are guaranteed a bid from one of the two chapters. So basically keep an open mind to all the sororities, go to all your rounds, and be yourself and you should end up exactly where you're supposed to be :)

This isn't true sadly. There was a thread about this a few years ago. There IS a small small chance you get to pref and don't get a bid. It isn't SUPER small but it does happen. Obviously it happens if you suicide bid, but my year it happened to 2-3 girls. Luckily your rho chi will call you so you don't show up to bid night. This happened before AXO was established, so I'm sure now it is less likely to happen but there is a small chance you will be dropped even after pref. Again SUPER small chance, but I know firsthand it had happened before.

This is true. I'm a senior and this happened to one of my friends freshman year. Like the person above me said, it was before AXO came to campus so maybe things have changed? She made it to pref, didn't suicide bid, and got a call from greek life telling her not to come to bid night because she didn't receive a bid. She has a few theories as to what happened, but it did happen unfortunately.
