The main difference lies in the fact that A phi is way more superficial and cares way more about image than about their actual sisterhood. Conversation in A Phi during recruitment consisted of "we need girls that would go to kappa." Pi Phi, however, is looking for girls that would fit their sisterhood, regardless of whether or not they look like they would go to kappa.
