npc sororities

you do realize you're going to Rowan right? We're not a big school or have big sports teams and we're not going to get the Alpha Phi's, Pi Phis, etc. Hell there was a time there were only 4 sororities on campus. Sorry but if you want a bigger name sorority with a bigger Nationals, go pay the money for a bigger school

I will say in 2016 me and other reps from other sororities had to choose between AST and ADPi as the newest org to join Rowan for 2017. A lot of the committee picked AST because they were smaller and had a smaller Nationals and thought they wouldn't compete with the other orgs. ADPi is the first National Sorority and has a big alum/nationals and would attract more girls. The other sororities didn't want to compete.
The same thing happened when they tried to bring Delta Zeta vs SDT. The sororities are own their worse enemies.

Would you happen to know why sororities get such a voice on bringing in new orgs whereas fraternities get practically no say? Speaking strictly on sororities voting on new sororities and frats on new frats.

NPC/IGC reps and Sorority presidents have that much weight because we were seen as a positive representation of Greek Life on campus. Our choices were supposed to be based on who would be a best fit to & had values & culture that would best match Rowan's. But majority of the committee members knew that if ADPi came to campus, girls would want to rush because they're more known & would've had the financial support to be big. We never really wanted AST or SDT to become big but from what I heard from my little/g little they're doing pretty good. But if AST was ADPi and SDT was DZ , our chance at getting top girls would've dropped dramatically.
Frats are under IFC and IFC's rules are much more lenient than National Panhellenic Conference. That's just the way it is unfortunately.
Gary is trying though. If he was in charge back in the day we would be having a different scenario from what we have today,

For frats all the need is 3 students who want to "create a frat", I don't remember if they make a presentation or not but they bring this up with the office of Greek Affairs and they vote. For sororities, Nationals of any sorority has to wait to hear from Universities who are interested in adding an org to campus, a few apply, then it is narrowed down by 2-3 orgs and each National organization creates a presentation about their org, philanthropy, etc and the committee members have the final vote

and delta zeta. But thats it. Not to mention SDT founders was comprised of Tri Sig pledges (before they were initiated)
