thinking about joining a fraternity

I'm a junior and I've always been interested in greek life. I have two difficult majors and an admirable GPA. I'm athletic and fun to be around. I am not moved by what people think about me, but I want to be around people I respect. I just thought that was important to mention.

Enough about me, can anyone tell me how joining a frat works? I would like to rush in the Fall. What is the process like and how do I get involved? Do I need to know people within the frat to join or can I meet them at events? Lastly, I just want to know what frats are regarded most highly. Thanks, guys.
