The Installation of their chapter is this fall, which I think takes place this weekend as well, I think the 'Installation' is the same as Chartering.

Don't know their exact process, but I always assumed that initiation and chartering are the same thing. Never been involved in a chartering before.

Yes, installation and chartering are the same thing. They were officially installed as the Kappa Alpha chapter of Alpha Xi Delta.
