spring rush?

by: Rushing

Hey guys I'm a freshman and I think the biggest mistake I've made while being at Kennesaw is deciding not to rush this semester. I've met a few fraternities but haven't really got to know them really. Can anyone give me a brief description of each fraternity, what they're about, what kind of guys they get, what sororities they hang out with etc. I know these will probably be really subjective so if you can try not to be.

Honestly I wouldn't use GreekRank for this kind of discussion, rankings and the opinions are very biased (being anonymous there's no way at all to determine where these come from). I would definitely rush though, I never thought I'd join an organization but it's without a doubt one of the best decisions I've ever made. Please don't use this system to determine where you go though, totally out of whack

KS: best social lives, good involvement, girls love them and they are pretty cool guys. Getting a bid is tough though and pledgeship sucks. If you can make it through you'll have a great time.
Pi Kapp: decent social lives, good community service. Struggle with grades. Pledgeship is hard but you won't regret rushing them.
Pike: Great social lives, great philanthropy involvement. Bid a lot of guys most fraternities wouldn't. Easiest pledgeship now that delts are gone.
OX: a lot of woerd guys from poly. KSU guys are great. Decent athletics. Still rebuilding.
KA:Good name. Decent social lives. Still new so you will have a lot of work to build the chapter.
DX: some weird guys. Girls find them kind of attractive. Get top sorority girls idk how. Tight brotherhood. Smallest in #'s.
SN: good athletically. A lot of weird guys most people wouldn't bid. Tough pledgeship. Good name. No sorority relations.
D-Sig: still new, good guys. No sorority relations. A lot of work.

Never met anyone else. This is just my opinion.

This is pretty spot on. The only things I would say is, ΘΧ is more than decent in athletics, Pikapp is getting better grades, ΔΧ has better a social life now woth a house, ΣΝ has a good connection now with ΑΟΠ after homecoming, and Delta Sig has one too with ΑΞΔ. But yeah choose who you fit in with, because at the end of the day, they will be some if your best friends for life!

Kappa Sig: best social lives, sororities like them a lot, best tailgates, great guys. Yeah pledgeship sucks and getting a bid is hard unless you know brothers before. Tight brotherhood. Get in trouble a lot. Pine tree based.
Pi Kapp: good social lives, good tailgates, they have had trouble with grades but their poly guys are changing that, good guys.tight brotherhood. Pledge ship sucks. Pine tree based.
Pike: pledgeship is harder than people let on, good social lives, outside of Kappa Sig these guys pull the hardest, solid tailgates, do well with their philanthropy. Bid way too many guys so the brotherhood isn't tight. A few creeps that give them bad rep with some girls. West 22 based.
KA: now that the Delts are gone these guys are starting to get more popular, their name is everything, decent parties, improving sorority relations. Have only been here at KSU as a colony and chartered fraternity for 2 years.
Theta Chi: just returned from hazing suspension, good athletically, the brotherhood is divided between SPSU kids and KSU kids, had to settle for a lot of weird guys during rush, pledgeship sucks.
SN: good athletically, the only fraternity other than Kappa Sig and Pi Kapp to have SPSU kids who aren't total creeps but they also have a lot of wierdos/creeps as well, still building sorority relations, average social lives, have a house at SPSU. SPSU based.
DX: average guys, good sorority relations, stay involved, smaller tight brotherhood, pledgeship sucks, a few wierdos.

D-Sig: quite a few strange guys in their founding class, haven't even been at KSU a year yet, sub par sorority relations, no pledgeship so if thats a plus to you look here, decent tailgates. No idea where they party or how well they do with them. Half of them are cool and half are just rude.
SAE: Not a lot of Wierdos honestly I think SN has more, not attractive to girls, still building sorority relations, probably throw the best parties of every poly fraternity, never see them around campus, VERY SPSU based, chill with a lot of other fraternities, like D-Sig they only have a 3 day pledgeship so its pretty much no pledgeship. Nice guys.
SP TKE: no one ever sees them, no idea if they party or have any sorority relations, some people say they've met Sigma Pi and they're pretty cool. I have a friend who just affiliated with TKE and he's awesome. That's all I can tell you about these guys. VEEEERRRRY SPSU based.

Talk to brothers and tell them you want to rush in the spring and they will bring you around. No member of any fraternity will turn you down. Don't be shy. That's the only way. You are joining the organization, but you are mainly joining the people. Don't let people convince you about parties or social lives, because everyone parties and has social lives. Would you party with a bunch of dudes you think are ass holes? It's the people that matter.

As a girl here I'd tell you to rush Kappa Sig or Pi Kapp, possibly Pike if they start to be more selective and not rush so many creeps.. Outside of those three honestly I'd wait until the delts return... Theta Chi is not as good as they used to be and I keep hearing that Sigma Nu throws good parties but when I went, it was just a bunch of brothers and maybe like 60 or 70 girls. Brothers would only talk to the same girls they thought were attractive, so half of us left early out of my group. DX is full of a bunch of sweet hearts!! But they could use some work. KA's newest PNM class seems to be ok! My little loves them but the rest of the fraternity, especially their founders just don't do much for me. That's all I know but you should definitely go out and see for yourself!! I just thought as a third year girl I'd put my opinion in and see if that helps.
